About the Ministry

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs was set up in 1999 after the bifurcation of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, to give a more focused approach to the integrated socio-economic development of the Scheduled Tribes (STs).

Its schemes support and supplement other Central Ministries, State Governments and voluntary organisations, and fill critical gaps through financial assistance for economic, educational and social development.

About the Fellowship and Scholarship Schemes

These are Central Sector schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for ST students pursuing higher education. Applications are invited online on this portal, with guidelines and instructions available here.

Documents can be fetched from DigiLocker or uploaded. Software reads them and suggests; officers check and confirm every outcome, and nothing is rejected automatically.
